Class Schedule | Augsburg Academy

Daily Schedule-Kindergarten-4 through Grade 2
These students begin class with a formal all-school opening at 8:00 am. Students then move to their
individual classrooms for a day of interactive instruction. All students in the school have lunch together
at noon. The class day ends at 3:30 pm, when teachers escort their students to their waiting parents or
to after-school care.

Students in these grades have all the basics, plus Spanish, music, art, physical education, and
religious education classes. They participate in Chapel every Wednesday morning.

Daily Schedule for Grades 3 through 10
Like their younger schoolmates, classes begin promptly at 8:00 am for these students as well.
Students in all grades receive instruction from teachers who are specialists in their fields. They join the
younger students at lunch time as the entire Academy community joins together for lunch. Classes end
at 3:30 pm, after which students return home, participate in extracurricular programs, or join the
after-school program.

Students in these grades have all the basics, plus Spanish or Russian (Grades 6 and up), music, art,
physical education, and religious education classes. They participate in Chapel every Wednesday
morning.

The day begins in a formal manner
From 7:45 to 7:55, students not in the before-school care program arrive, check into their classrooms,
and get settled in. All students assemble for the formal opening of school, where the day begins with a
prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, and a song, short Bible reading, or special announcements. At 8:05,
all students and teachers are in their classrooms to begin the academic work of the day.

Lunch is another community time
In addition to Chapel and the opening of the school day, Augsburg students and faculty gather together
for lunch each day. Most days, students bring their lunch to school. Other days, generally once per
week, the PTCO (parents' association) plans a meal that is available at a very nominal cost.
