Augsburg Evangelical is not your typical church.
First, while we have a primary worship space, we also go into the community for worship as well. Jesus Christ modeled this in his ministry, and we believe it is a good model for us to follow.
Second, we don't have members, just disciples. You don't have to "join" Augsburg to be a part of our community. But, we ask those who choose to formally join us to make a commitment to be in discipleship with us, and not just be a name on a roster.
We take education seriously. In fact, we take it so seriously that our first ministry is the Augsburg Academy, our parish school for K4 through 8th grade, and it will soon be K4 through 12th grade.
We are also learners in our work as followers of Jesus Christ. The word "disciple" comes from the Greek word which means "student." Therefore, everyone who is involved with Augsburg Evangelical Church is encouraged to be involved in a program of self-study as well as small group classes to learn how we can best serve God as disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ
