Augsburg Summer Program |
Get In Touch |
What is the Augsburg Summer Program? Each summer, Augsburg opens its doors to children age 4 through 10th grade for academic enrichment, religious education, and sports in a casual environment. When does the Augsburg Summer Program operate? Generally speaking, the Augsburg Summer Program begins the last Monday in June and runs for five consecutive weeks. Parents can enroll their children in two to five weeks of the program. What does a day at Augsburg Summer Program look like? Each day, there are two 50-minute academic sessions where campers are able to receive one-on-one and small group tutoring in reading, mathematics, language arts, or Spanish. Tutors are members of the Augburg Academy staff or are directly supervised by staff members. There is also a 50-minute period for religious education (a "mini-Vacation Bible School" type program), and then lunch. In the afternoon, campers participate in ice skating, swimming, and other sports and fitness activities. Is before- and after-care available? Yes. Before-care runs from 8:00 am to 9:00 am, and after-care runs from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. What does the Augsburg Summer Program cost? Tuition and fees are announced in February. In 2009, the tuition was $195 per week.. |
